Geoff Simpson
Managing Director

Geoff brings over 35 years experience in site management, estimating, contract administration and project management in the West Australian building industry to the VDM Construction team. Geoff has been involved in a range of projects from single residential to high rise apartments; government and private schools; factories; warehouses and office buildings. Geoff is responsible for the provision of leadership, direction and strategic and operational management of the Construction Division (West).

 

Marija Vujcic
Human Resources Manager

Marija brings more than 12 years experience in employee relations and human resource management to the VDM Construction team. A tertiary qualified professional with extensive IR experience working on major mining, oil and gas projects ensures Marija’s capability of confidently managing the issues and challenges of HR in the construction industry. Marija is responsible for managing all HR/IR related issues, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and the strategic direction of the HR department.

 

Clayton Taylor
OHSE Manager

Clayton brings an invaluable wealth of knowledge and skills in the area of health, safety and environment to the VDM Construction team through his experience in construction, surface and underground mining. Clayton has been employed by VDM Construction for two years and has over ten years experience in OHSE. His formal qualifications include a Bachelor of Science (OHS), Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Diplomas in Training and Management and he is a registered Principal OHS Auditor with RABQSA International.

 

Ulf Maass
QA Manager

Ulf commenced employment with Wylie & Skene in 1997. He has over 30 years engineering management experience with the resource and mining sector in remote Western Australia. Ulf holds an Electrical Engineering Diploma and is responsible for the management and coordination of quality assurance and document control for VDM Construction. Ulf is a qualified external auditor for Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001) and OHS Management Systems (AS 4801).

 

Ben MacKinnon
Finance Manager

Ben commenced with VDM Group in June 2006 and has worked in various finance roles across the Construction, Contracting and Head Office Divisions.  Ben holds a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Finance and Accounting from the University of Western Australia, was admitted as a Chartered Accountant in March 2005 and prior to working at VDM Group spent four years with Ernst and Young. Ben is responsible for all financial aspects of the Construction Division in WA, including cost reporting and forecasting, month end reporting, compliance with external audits and all other head office reporting requirements.
