FMG Cloudbreak Non Process Facilities and ROM Wall

VDM Construction built the workshops / warehouse, heavy and light washdown facilities, tyre change and store, HV refuelling, oily water pond and administration building. ROM Pad civil works comprising tilt up concrete wall panels 460 linear metres long, 7.5m high with stabilised backfilling and approach slabs and wheel tops.

FMG came to VDM Consulting with a problem that they were over budget and over time. Our solution was to re-engineer with tilt up pre-cast walls and stabilised backfill design. The execution of this project, undertaken by VDM Construction, was a big success. The project was completed well above anyone’s expectations for time and quality. There was a very quick turnaround time in the design and documentation on this project, in fact, the construction commenced while the design was still in progress.
The quick, easy, cost effective solution that was pioneered by VDM Consulting in this project has been subsequently proven to be very successful in the mining industry.
