Bruce Highway Rehabilitation

Client: Queensland Department of Main Roads
Contract Value: $10 million
Completion: March 2010
Location: Nambour, QLD

Delivered in joint venture with Allens Asphalt, VDM Construction took the lead role for the overall 'on the ground' management of the project, being responsible for the traffic control and civil works which involved 5,500 metres of rehabilitation.

An integral part of the project was the construction of five 'crossovers' between 1km and 1.5km apart in the median of the highway to allow traffic to be detoured across to the opposite side of the highway, in a single lane to completely remove traffic from the work zone.

All works were carried out at night, between 7pm and 5am with the project being completed ahead of schedule.
