VDMÂ Construction won the contract for the construction of the Bundaberg Ring Road. The two stage project provides construction of a bypass road to the Bundaberg Port, which will relieve the Bundaberg township of heavy vehicle traffic.
Stage 1 included construction of 7.6km of new roadway, including 4 bridges over water and a 3-span bridge with 35m T-grinders, reinforced earth retaining wall, traffic light intersections, earthworks, drainage and road lighting.
Stage 2 included construction of 7.4km of new roadway, 2-span bridge over electrified railway line, 2 reinforced retaining walls, earthworks, drainage, noise barriers and road lighting.
