Building Construction

 Operating largely in Western Australia and Queensland, VDM has the capability to build in remote desert areas and Australia’s cyclone-prone tropical north.

A culture of innovation, ground-breaking techniques and achieving more with less has resulted in some unique projects being completed ahead of schedule and within budget for the mining & resources, transport & civil infrastructure and urban development sectors.

We have been responsible for the construction of process and non-process mine infrastructure, mine accommodation villages and installing the world’s heaviest autogenous mills, the construction of a new freight handling and passenger terminal on the Cocos Islands and the building of residential, commercial and industrial buildings.

VDM Construction brings significant capability in the fields of:

  • Design and construction of non-process and process infrastructure, such as:

- workshops, warehouses, washdown facilities, tyre change and other maintenance facilities;
- bulk fuel, lube, oily water facilities;
- bulk material storage and handling facilities;
- water and sewerage treatment plants;
- permanent and temporary accommodation facilities, messing and ancillary facilities;
- permanent and temporary construction site administration facilities and office buildings; and
- material sampling and laboratory facilities

  • Construction of commercial, industrial and residential buildings, group housing and refurbishments.
