VDM Group

Profile

Established in 1975, Wylie & Skene has grown in capacity and experience to become one of Western Australia’s foremost remote area construction companies. Because we have 35 years experience in the successful execution of remote projects we are capable of providing a comprehensive service from concept to completion. In May 2007 Wylie & Skene became a subsidiary of the VDM Group, opening our doors to a great range of in house consulting, construction technology and civil services available within the VDM Group.

Wylie & Skene has developed expertise in the construction of a variety of projects including:

  • Mine infrastructure inclusive of workshops, warehouses, administration centres, maintenance buildings, laboratories, gatehouses, medical centres and accommodation villages
  • Industrial buildings
  • Civil/structural/materials handling facilities
  • Public sector developments
  • Commercial developments
  • Domestic accommodation

Because we specialise in remote area construction, some of our more challenging projects have been in locations such as the Kimberley, Pilbara, Goldfields and offshore locations including Cocos Island, Christmas Island, Thevenard, Varanus and Barrow Islands. Working in remote areas requires that particular attention be paid to detailed planning and logistics, both prior to, and after, mobilisation. We provide a flexible approach and innovative solutions to design and construction problems.

Wylie & Skene has grown through steady expansion. By careful selection of personnel and good management we have achieved a very low staff turnover. As a result, we have developed a closely knit team of professional and support staff who are experienced at designing, planning, constructing and commissioning projects on time and within budget.
We are accustomed to working in tandem with our clients to ensure that all their needs and expectations are fulfilled.
